Ephraim H. HARRELL was born about 1825 in Georgia. He moved before 1850 to Jasper County Texas. He died in Robertson County, Texas. Ephraim married Elins or Elias Anna ?.

Ephraim served in the military in 1863.

Ephraim H. Harrell was born about 1825 in the state of Georgia.
Both of his  parents were born in South Carolina . At about the age of  23 ,
he married Elins or Elias Anna  ???  with the year being about 1847.  She was
then about the age of 17.  Anna was born about 1830 in the state of
Mississippi. Anna's parents were also born in Mississippi.

           In the year of 1850 , census records shows that Ephraim and Anna
are in Jasper County Texas. The couple are  now blessed with two children;
Thomas Heninton Harrell ( born 1848) and John J.Harrell (born 1850).  John is
just one month old. Due to a misspelling on  census records Ephraim's name is
listed on the census records as Ephrim Herrald. He is now 25. Anna is 20.

               Ephraim is one of 123 farmers in Jasper County.

              1860 census shows that Ephraim is still in Jasper County. There
his name is spelled as Ephraim Harrell . His age is correct but his
birthplace is  incorrectly listed as Florida.  He now has five children ;
Thomas Heninton , John J.,  Susannah ( born 1852) , Benjamin ( born1855) ,  
and Mary Jane (born abt. 1858) .  

            By the year of 1862 Ephraim has left Anna to enlist in the Civil
War as a Confederate Soldier.  Ephraim is  now a father at the age  of 37.
This  leaves Anna as a  mother  at   the age of 32 with 5 young children  
between the ages  of 4  - 14 ; with  one child  on the way for her to  care
for. Thomas H. ; who is now 14 ,will now be the man of the house until his
beloved father returns .  A daughter named Melvina
( born 1862 ) and a son named Joe (born1864)  was born during these hard
civil war years while Ephraim was away .

           Ephraim  is now enlisted in   the 11th  Texas Calvary & Battalion
in  Co.B. under Lt. Col. Ashley W.Spaight. This unit was previously known to
be the 6th Infantry Battalion,  but it was reorganized into the 11th . In
November 1864 this unit was also consolidated with the 21st Infantry
Battalion.

              Ephraim Returns from the Civil War.  By the year of 1866 Jasper
County  now sees  the rule of  Union Troops. In the year of 1867 My
grandmother Laura Harrell is born.

             In the year of 1870 Lizzie Harrell is born ..  We have no record
of where Ephraim is for the 1870 census .

          The last known child born was Lafayette " Fate" Harrell  which was
born in the year of 1874.  All children were born in Texas.

          1880 shows that the family are living in Robertson County Texas .
At this time our Grandmother Laura is listed for the first time. It shows
that Ephraim's name was spelled as Ephram Harrell and his age was listed as
60 (which should have been 55.)  His occupation was listed again as a farmer
.  Anna ,  Mary Jane, Melvina, Joe  ,Grandmother Laura, Lizzie, & Lafayette
were still in the house hold at this time.  Joe was noted as " white stocking
" meaning he had a handicap . Also, living in their household was a John Lee
from China which was not related to the family .  

         The last known place of residence for Ephraim was Robertson County.
The last known place of residence for Anna was Erath County where she drew a  
Civil War Widow's Pension.  These records were lost in the archives.
